I bought a keychain here and the entire time the owner was on the telephone. She even told her friend something about she’s selling this for ¥1500 when it’s like ¥1100 at Kyoto in Japanese. I don’t speak Japanese very well and I didn’t think too much into it at the time but looking back at the experience makes me feel disappointed. I understand it’s up to the owner to set the price and it’s not like she’s scamming people, but mocking your customer in front of them in a language you think they don’t speak is a bit much.

Cute little shop! Bought some ice cream for 400 yen, and walked up the stairs to sit by the river. The owners are kind, and patient. They also sell cute little souvenir items.

It is an old style restaurant run by an old couple, very gentil. I ordered a matcha icecream but the machine did not work. The granny spent long time yet failed to fix it. She then called the grandpa to help but he could not fix it either. The interaction between the granny and the grandpa was very moving and cute. It reminds me the japanese series. At the end they gave me a mango icecream. The icecream itself did not matter. The experience was super 🇯🇵
