I did the matcha workshop with the traditional stone mill and I loved it! Remember this is the traditional way to drink matcha pure it is not the sweet matcha latte that is more known in Europe/US. The staff is super nice and answers all your questions about the tea. Have never tasted such fresh matcha before as this is freshly grind and directly consumed.
View on GoogleNice tea making experience to enjoy in the intentionality of day to day activity. You need to grind just at the right speed and continuously, any inconsistencies caused the green tea (uji) to be bad, bitter, not aromatic etc. They provide English guidance so you can fully understand and immerse in the whole experience
View on Google+5 for the older lady in the matcha tea workshop who was polite professional kind and thoughtful during our workshop. -1 for the younger lady who had a fit dealing with our walk in despite a sign in the front saying there were open seats and we could walk in Our Japan trip has been amazing and everyone has practiced omotenashi at every place we visited. This was an overall great matcha making experience but at points it felt a bit odd during our registration. Something to be mindful for those who have walk in activities (shop, dining, and etc). Worth a visit but be mindful you might get an attitude with some.
View on GoogleWe enjoyed truly the roasting of green tea (sencha) to Hojicha. It was a good experience. We also tasted the premium macha tea. The staffs are very friendly and speak good English.
View on GoogleWe were a bit disappointed with the experience huhu. We expected to learn more about matcha and the traditional process, but no explanations from the staff. They just told us to grind the tea leaves for a few minutes, left, then came back to show us how to mix and drink the matcha. That was basically the whole activity. No history, no talk and no engagement 💔 However, it was nice to try making matcha ourselves, but we hoped for more guidance, interaction and information about what we were doing. The experience felt too short and not very engaging 🥺
