I absolutely enjoyed this restaurant. The food was amazing and service was very friendly and accommodating. The woman who served us spoke great English, and even admired our use of Japanese. I ordered the curry with lots of beef and drink set, and it was worth the ¥1,800 price. The curry was very flavorful and not too spicy. The meat was so tender and practically melted in your mouth. I was very satisfied with this meal. My order also comes with your choice of drink, and I ordered an espresso--which you have the option to have your drink served during or after your meal. Overall, I recommend this restaurant. It's a short walk from Byodoin Temple. Next time I'm in Uji, I will be returning!

Very friendly staff, got the omurice and it was delicious! Just love the texture of japanese rice but the sauce, egg, and rice complemented each other well.

We stopped in for lunch and were honestly blown away by how good the dishes were. I ordered the omelette rice with beef stew, and it was incredible the beef was unbelievably tender, the demi-glace was rich and deep in flavour, and the fluffy omelette soaked up the sauce perfectly. Even the sides (potatoes and greens) tasted fresh and balanced the dish really wel. My partner had the katsu curry, and it was exactly what you want from a proper Japanese curry: crispy katsu on top, not oily at all, with a smooth curry sauce that had great flavour without being too spicy. Super comforting, super satisfying. Portions were generous, prices fair, and the food came out quickly. Plus, the sunlight coming through the window made the whole meal feel warm and cosy. Overall: 10/10 amazing comfort food, great quality, and definitely worth a stop if you're in Uji.

The food was very homely - simple. The service was very good, there is an English menu so is friendly for foreigner. A bit of walking, but that’s fine. The food comes with a drink for the set menu, so it’s worth it.
