Beautiful collection of many indigo died fabrics and clothes from various countries and periods ! The owner was very sweet and answer our questions gladly. Highly recommend!

I was on a bus tour and we stopped in Miyama village having little time to explore the location. Walking around, I found the place and decided to come in. Only 300 yen for a ticket and you step into a world of Japanese indigo dyeing craft. In the Museum, you can observe the traditional indigo dyeing process and the collection of indigo textiles from around the world. I would like to have more time to explore the collection, but the tour schedule was busy. At the end of my visit, I bought a few postcards in memory of this place.

Such a humble but great collection! I wish good health and prosperity for the family and their passion with indigo.

Little museum depicting indigo-dyed fabrics. The owner is in his eighties, can speak English, and very passionate about textile. Apparently all the fabrics and clothes displayed are the owner personal collection from around the world. You can freely touch the display and take photos so I hope for visitors to be mindful and careful. And I also pray for Mr shido to keep having the best health

A small place owned by a famous Japanese designer. It focuses around the usage of indigo in clothing from various cultures. The place itself is small, but you can see his workshop, and the price is almost free.
