We went here for the udon and the soba. The food was excellent, I really loved the broth they used. The staff was very helpful, helping me navigate the order system even though I don't know Japanese. These were the best noodles we had in Japan.

View on GoogleLocated just outside the west ticket gate of Higashi-Mukojima Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, this shop is fast, cheap, and casual—all three requirements met. It's easy to stop by on your way to work or school. The appeal is that you can eat quickly, with a sense of speed similar to a stand-up eating place. It's Kansai-style dashi soba and udon, and I think the dashi is delicious. I think the kake soba, kitsune, and curry soba are popular. A feature is that you can change the flavor with tempura scraps, fish powder, and Japanese pepper on the table. In addition to soba and udon, they also have oyakodon, pork bowls, and even ramen. It's an old-fashioned station soba price range, and you can feel satisfied for around 500-700 yen.
