this was the last place I went to for lunch in Kyoto before going back to the Philippines after going to their grandchild’s (髙橋藍) fanmeet in August 29th of 2023 & it’s definitely better than hyped up restaurants on TikTok or anywhere else. I don’t eat most restaurants’ side dishes cos it tastes like it’s been in the fridge for ages but the food they served to me were all delicious and freshly cooked! After all, nothing beats the taste that makes you feel like you’re home ❤️‍🔥✨ Additionally, the owners were both very kind, I didn’t speak Japanese very well and could only understand a few words but they still tried to make me feel comfortable by talking to me and asking if I needed anything with my meal, even gave me a cup of tea after devouring everything on my plate. I hope to come back soon and thank them again for the delicious meal 💞

Restaurant closing just an hour after opening, despite 2 pm being given as the closing time on Google. I went alone, I was not even in a big group, yet they refused to let me have lunch there. This restaurant ought to show more appreciation to people who bothered to travel there to eat, whether we live in the area , or actually travelled there to try their food. However, they chose to close their door right in my face, when I was not even that late for lunch. If this restaurant really respect their customers, they should write their closing time accurately online on Google.

a laid back and chill place

You can have a set meal for 850 yen. I thought the main portion might be a little small? But the vegetable side dishes are substantial, so I'm satisfied. Besides being delicious, the personality of the landlady makes you want to go again. Even though the shop looks hard to enter, it makes sense that it's almost full at 12:00 on weekdays. It was written that it is by reservation only at night.

The rice was too soft like glue. There was a metal piece about 5 millimeters in the food. I thought it was part of a steel scrubber, but I don't know what it is. I showed the person at the shop that something like this was in it, but the person who looked like the wife just apologized, and the person who looked like the husband didn't say a word. I thought they were looking down on me because I'm a woman. It's not something that can be solved with an apology. What if I had swallowed it? I thought about saying it, but at that time I thought it was pitiful because they looked like an elderly couple, so I stopped.
