Kitchen TARO is a set meal restaurant that has been locally rooted for over 40 years. It is a long-established side dish/set meal shop that has been operating for a long time in Muko City, and I think it is a hidden shop centered on local customers rather than tourists. The daily lunch set is popular, and the content changes every day. Main dish + several side dishes, homey and balanced meal. I think the cost performance is also high. Since it was originally a fruit parlor, fruit sandwiches/parfaits are specialties. Using plenty of fresh fruit purchased from the market. I think fruit sandwiches have a good balance between less sweet whipped cream and ripe fruit.

Morning visit May 19, 2026 Restaurant near Mukai Shrine, Muko City, Kyoto Prefecture That day I went around with a shared bicycle from Nishimuko Station and came here While cycling in Muko City while thinking about where to eat lunch, I saw this and came here after visiting the Muko City Cultural Museum The shop was a little crowded at lunch time, I sat at the back table seat and ate the daily lunch set, but it was very delicious By the way, it is surprising that there is a stewed sea bream head and this is 900 yen! The shop is run by a grandpa alone, very quiet and seems to be a place of rest for locals, the atmosphere was good

May 28, 2025, I went with a prior reservation as a "small party". Five of us, in a semi-private room in the back. We could chat leisurely without worrying about other customers. Bento and soup, special fruit sandwiches for 2000 yen, drinks were charged separately. Sashimi, fried shrimp, stewed meat and cabbage, etc., the taste was gentle and delicious homey. Fruit sandwiches also contained juicy and sweet fruits. Fruit sandwiches seem to be a specialty, and this was also delicious.

Exterior that looks like a sweets shop at first glance, but it is a shop that mainly serves side dishes and set meals. There are 4 types of daily lunch sets, and there are also fried rice, omurice, etc. Open until 7 pm, but there are many single menus such as alcohol, gyoza, oden, etc. Daily lunch set A 1000 yen (including tax) includes tuna sashimi as the main dish, with 4 types of side dishes. Sashimi is delicious, but all side dishes had a gentle taste that felt like mother's homemade. Daily lunch set B 900 yen (including tax) includes 2 shrimp, with vegetable tempura, the frying degree was good and delicious. 2 types of side dishes are also delicious. I took home fruit sandwiches 650 yen (including tax). Less sweet whipped cream utilizes the sweetness and acidity of the fruit. It was a pity that the bread was dry. 7 counter seats. 4 tables for 4 people.

Coffee shop in Muko City, quiet with beautiful nature I especially like the fruit sandwich set. Price and quality are not balanced in a good sense.. For those who want to get a relaxing time and satisfaction, please try it once. ☺️ Photo is fruit sandwich set (fruit sandwich and drink set) 850 yen. I love it...
