The chef / owner of this wonderful tiny six-seat restaurant speaks only two languages: Japanese and the international language -- fish. You will be thrilled by the fresh daily catch served up as sushi, sashimi and donburi. The beer is cold, sumo wrestling is viewable at the end of bar, and the translator app on your phone can easily decifer the handwritten menu. If you order the Chef's Choice sushi, the chef provides a handwritten description identifying all of the various fish on the plate. When in Miyazu, you MUST visit this restaurant. But come early: the restaurant closed at 7:00pm on the day we visited, and several groups were turned away after 6:00 pm. And don't let the low hum of the AC bother you.
View on GoogleSmall and very specialized sushi place. We came here with a friend and ordered two mackerel sets. Everything was prepared with great care — very precise, clean, and beautifully presented. The owner clearly puts a lot of effort into every detail. We really enjoyed not only the taste, but also the presentation and the overall experience. Excellent value for money — honestly a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended. If you’re nearby, definitely stop

View on GoogleWe just randomly find this hidden gem. There’s only one chef in this restaurant. He’s making everything by ordered. Even there was just us eating and we ordered 1 miso soup, he is so willing to start from the scratch in a big pot. We had the best experience eating in the authentic sushi restaurant that serve local caught fish. Recommend
View on GoogleAre you tired of having tuna and salmon on sushi all the time? Here is another choice. You will enjoy sushi made with fresh fishes from a local fish market chosen by the cook. We visited there twice in two consecutive days just to remember what Amanohashidate should taste like. We felt the chef’s hospitality and his passion to promote local seafood. If you happen to stay near the Michi-no-eki for a while, be sure to visit here and be acquainted with some local fishes.
