I stayed near Maizuru Station and used it to enjoy delicious local sake and side dishes. The atmosphere of the shop is to my liking. Immediately, I ordered a bottled beer, and while drinking, I looked for delicious local side dishes from the menu. As it is seafood, I ordered sashimi, boiled fish, and heshiko. The squid sashimi is sweet and fresh, and goes well with sake! The boiled flatfish was cooked carefully, as you can tell by how the umami is firmly locked into the meat, to the point where I groaned😲 Finally, the highlight was the grilled heshiko. The moment I took a bite, it was different from regular heshiko, soft, and the saltiness was mellow!? What a delicious heshiko! When I asked the owner, he said he made it by hand. If you are a heshiko lover, this deliciousness is irresistible🤤 I want to use it again when I come to Maizuru. Thank you for the meal

It was my first time visiting, but the quality of the fish is outstanding. All other dishes were carefully prepared, and I enjoyed them all. However, smoking is allowed inside the shop, so it is not recommended for those who dislike the smell or smoke of cigarettes.

ーー A drink in Higashi-Maizuru ーー The first day of a blitz tour from Nishio, Aichi Prefecture to Shimonoseki, stayed one night in Higashi-Maizuru. Looked for a good shop on Google Maps for a quick drink. Quite stylish presentation. Reasonable price. It was delicious. The first photo is flatfish sashimi. The second photo is a comparison of eating parent chicken and young chicken. It seems like it was just grilled, but it was delicious~. The third is Manganji pepper tempura. Manganji and heshiko are recommended around here. Since I often eat heshiko when I go to Fukui, I chose Manganji. I enjoyed it as the recommended tempura. It wasn't spicy, it was sweet and delicious. The fourth is grilled horse mackerel with salt. It looks like one whole fish but it's half. For me who aims for "senbero" (cheap drinking), it was a bit too luxurious. Homemade mackerel heshiko is delicious. Oyster tempura is exquisite. I recommend it because you can also eat Manganji. There are few types, but they have delicious local sake from northern Kyoto, so I want you to drink it.
