Waffles, desserts & typical light fare served in an unassuming establishment with a mellow vibe.

A cafe near Kinkaku-ji Temple and Ritsumeikan University. The waffles have many varieties such as standard berry berry, matcha, chocolate banana, etc., and are exquisite when eaten with fresh cream or vanilla ice cream. In addition, original menus such as cheese curry naan and tomato spaghetti are also popular. The stained glass inside the store is wonderful, and you can enjoy cafe time in a calm atmosphere.

Coffee here is excellent—probably the best I’ve had in Japan so far. The atmosphere is peaceful and stylish, and the customer service is very good. However, the prices are quite high—many items cost almost double compared to other cafés or restaurants. The food is tasty but expensive, and it’s surprising that they only accept cash when asking for such high prices. Still, it’s a lovely spot if you’re looking for a quality coffee experience and don’t mind paying extra.

I went there with my girlfriend. We had a plate of Japanese curry and a plate of pasta without bacon. When we arrived restaurant, we asked plug for charge our phone first, because we are coming from very long way. Staff said that we need to order first. After we ordered, nobody helped us although there is nobody without us as customer in restaurant. Another point, the woman who took our order, we thought that she is boss, was very rude. When my girlfriend asked the possibility of removing bacon from pasta, her reaction was exaggregated. That behaviour was very unnecessary. We came from Turkey, took 13000 km but not for that. We didn't do anything disrecpectful.

This is a lovely cafe with excellent service and food. We visited after seeing the nearby temples because we were in need of a hot beverage and ended ordering a full lunch, too. The prices are a little high, but the quality of food and service matches. They serve a quality coffee, too.

After visiting the temple, we wanted a cappuccino. We accidentally discovered this nice cafe. The staff were very friendly and the cappuccino was great.

Whimsical, casual and charming, this hidden gem is worth finding. Just across the street from the beautiful rock garden temple, this restaurant is named after a children's story book, features waffles and desserts, and has great coffee. A perfect stop for a sight seeing day.
