Horrible, me and my fiancé decided to pick a ramen restaurant without looking at google (just walking by and walking in) and unfortunately we walked into this one without knowing it’s Chinese ramen. Well directly we were met with a very annoyed and unwelcoming attitude. The food itself didn’t taste bad (it was the worse ramen we have eaten on our Japan trip). Problem started later… I want to start with that I have a really strong stomach and I don’t think I have ever had food poisoning in my life but this was my first. I got really hard stomach pain and issues from this food, not sure what exactly but it had to be something in the ramen. Because my fiancé took another dish and she was fine. This was the first restaurant in the prior 2/3 days that I have eaten something different to my fiancé. Yeah I would not recommend, there is a lot of other really good spots out there that will not try to kill you. And where the owners appreciate that you want to eat there.
View on GoogleGot the gyoza and fried rice, which was actually decent food. Sadly, however, the service was so insanely bad, that it ruined the whole already non-existent vibe at the place. From start to finish, the waitress lady made us feel like we were a burden. Very offputting and rude. Sad for the dude working in the kitchen, who was not at fault. Furthermore it didn’t seem super sanitary, as we were accompanied by a dead fly on the chili sauce bottle. Would definitely not come back here.
View on GoogleMy friend and I really enjoyed their food. We arrived in Kyoto station quite late for lunch and stayed at the hotel just near this place. The restaurant closes at 2pm for lunch and then opens again at 5. They are on cash-only basis, but the food is reasonably priced. They have English menu so if you're a non-Japanese speaker/reader, it is still okay. They have different kinds of ramen, such as Miso, charsu, hakata, etc. I ordered the Hakata ramen regular size and I think it was enough. They also have set menus, combination of ramen and other dishes. Also they have gyoza, karaage, charsu pork, etc. They provide you with drinking water for free and you get your own pitcher at your table. Both owners are also really nice and polite. Peaceful ambience too. Location is south of the Kyoto station. Probably around 10-minute walk from JR Kyoto but there is a subway super nearby.
View on GoogleOnly walked into this place as Ramen place that is my absolute favourite had a really long waiting line (which I ordinarily don’t mind) but was pressed for time. The ramen portion, flavour and the ambience of the place is not the best. The meat / pork portion was maybe two slices?! The lady is nice and speaks conversational English. The other shop person was not that inviting. I’d recommend Ramen Daiei which is a 5 min walk away from here.
View on GoogleVery friendly staff. Just across the street from Kujo underground station. They only offer pork based ramen stock. English menu is available. Ramen is super yummy. Price for a bowl is reasonable (700yen).
