Stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. Its pretty fancy looking on the inside, tatami floor so have to take your shoes off at the entrance. Takoyaki is not your street vendor kind but a smaller refined one. Other dishes were equally delicious!

Came here on a Wednesday evening and it was mostly empty. We were seated at the counter seats, which was nice. Takoyaki was delicious, especially the double cheese, dashi octopus, and the special sauce ones!). Also recommend the sweet potato and ice cream dessert! The gin and tonic was great too. Though there is a cover charge of ¥600 per person, it’s worth it. Good food, good ambience, good service!

The takoyakis where so delicious. Crispy outside and creamy inside. I’ve added a beer to my 6 balls to dine in. The atmosphere is very nice especially because it’s not too busy.

Sakuma-san is a master Takoyaki chef and an incredible host. The Wagyu takoyaki was by far the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend stopping by this hidden gem.

Pontocho restaurants always rise to the occasion. This small takoyaki shop offers take out and from the outside and looks really casual, wait till you check out the inside! You may not think takoyaki romantic but this place is lit. They serve wine with takoyaki and other delicious Japanese dishes. The service is one of the best in Kyoto. Perfect for that casual date or an all girls hangout. The prices are reasonable and the ambience is perfect for chatting.
