At first we were a little nervous to try this place because of the reviews about them tending to not like foreigners, but the pudding looked so good so we decided to try to go anyway at 8pm on a Saturday. I am Vietnamese and my fiance is Mexican, and we don’t know Japanese but we definitely tried to learn key phrases to use while traveling, and we also would prep and learn how to say phrases on Google Translate ahead of time. We said konbanwa and ordered fully in Japanese and of course said arigato gozaimasu, and got good service from them. The Ethiopian mocha and house blend were amazing, and pudding was AMAZING! We think they definitely appreciate when foreigners try to speak in Japanese, rather than starting fully in English. And please respect their rule of no photos. It’s a very chill environment so just try to be quiet as well.

Best coffee, toast, pudding I have ever had. Remember 'No photo' is allowed to take in the shop. Please follow the rules.

The staff’s attitude and customer service were very disappointing. They were not friendly or helpful at all. It also felt like foreigners were not welcome, which made me very uncomfortable. On top of that, I was told I was not allowed to touch or use the computer. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this place.

Like a hidden gem in Kyoto!! The pudding, panna cotta and squash cake are so delicious. My tea is so good too. I love the atmosphere there! The owner is so friendly. Will visit this coffee shop again if I come back Kyoto. Highly recommend:)

Small cafe hidden away from the street, down some stairs. Reasonably priced cakes and drinks. Coffee was very good. Unique laid back atmosphere. However it’s quite small and they allow smoking, so it’s not a good place if you have a strong dislike of smoking.
