A photography gallery opened in 2017 that exhibits and sells original photographs. It operates around the theme: “We want photography to take root as a culture in people's lives. We want many people to discover photography's appeal, power, and possibilities, and reconsider its value.” Two exhibitions are held on the 1st and 2nd floors: the 1st floor features a permanent exhibition by photographer 清永安雄, the gallery's representative, while the 2nd floor is a rental space.

Free things to go in Kyoto, Museum of Photography. Yep, as a very famous beautiful city, many things are more expensive in Kyoto than Tokyo and Osaka (from what i see). But still, there are places that you can go with free entrance fee. Kyoto Museum of Photography is one of the examples. The museum got two floor and seems like they put different artwork after a while. I didn't read the whole thing.

I wouldn't call it a museum, more of a photo exhibition. A small one at that. But the photos exhibited were wonderful for me. They also encourage you to take a photo of the place and upload to your social media.

Nice little museum of photography. The exhibition we saw was nice, not really fine art. It's a place to visit whenever you are in the area.

Two small galleries of photography. One on the first floor and there is an elevator to go to the second one. Entrance is free and the staff is nice. If you aren’t into photography it feels a little overwhelming , as it’s modern photography and not necessarily historical or exceptional.

More of a shop/gallery than a museum. Not worth a dedicated trip but worth a pop in if you're passing, as it's free and welcoming.
