Great value for the quality. English menu available. I really liked the zura soba. Beer was large and ice cold. Everything was great except my niece didn't enjoy her cold soba with yam and egg white. Probably a more local taste for that one. Nothing wrong with the dish. Friendly and helpful staff.

The service is a bit weaker here. There is only one woman to take away the dishes, handle paying and take orders. She seemed to be trying but the whole situation was mismanaged. There wasn’t even that many people there! We had to wait a long time to be seated and then some more to order. Thankfully we got an English menu. They brought the food surprisingly quickly and it was actually good. Just know that the herring is a dried or smoked fish, not a fresh one. We really liked the table for 4 as it had a space for legs underneath. Other than that, the restaurant is a bit worn. There is not a western-style toilet!

We stumbled upon this place as we’re on our way to Nijo castle. We ordered a cold soba and it was very good especially on a hot day and price was reasonable. Service was friendly- recommended especially in this part of town.

Wonderful little restaurant with the tastiest Soba noodles. Highly recommended.
