'Katsukura' pours the traditions and techniques of Kyoto cuisine, which has long valued visual appeal and aroma—what is called an appeal to the five human senses—into the tonkatsu ingredient, creating a 'tonkatsu' unique to Kyoto. Products that subtly incorporate seasonal flavors throughout spring, summer, autumn, and winter will also make you feel the uniqueness of Kyoto's tonkatsu. Please enjoy the famous taste that colors the seasons.

Had it for the first time 20 something years ago and every time I revisit Japan, I must eat kutsukura but at other branches in Tokyo. Had the pleasure of revisiting this store in 10 years and I must say it is still as good as I remembered The store is refurbished. It is modern, but still not too modern. Very comfortable seatings The pork, the rice, the vegetable, the sauce, the pickle, and the soup are all perfect! Don’t forget to dab a little salt. It really changes an elevate the taste profile.

Everything is top-notch. The pork taste fresh and tender, with few special sauce to mix and match with based on your own preference. And the set comes with unlimited cabbage, soup and rice. Price is reasonable, service is fine, nice interior design and vibe.

What an amazing surprise. The tenderloin tonkatsu is absolutely incredible and I really enjoyed the experience of making my own sauce by grinding the sesame seeds. The restaurant is also super quiet and relaxing. I would definitely come back. 10/10

Delicious katsu in Kyoto with no queue when we went! We weren't bowled over, but it was juicy and fresh and inexpensive so we would definitely go again if in the area! It's a fun experience to crush your own sesame, but the miso is a little lacklustre if that's what you're into!

Iwachu Pork Tonkatsu is a must-order, the meat is thick and tender, the service is excellent, the set menu includes refills of cubes and rice, the place is neither cramped nor too spacious
