This is a Japanese-style restaurant located in the Rakusai area of Kyoto. As the name isaribi suggests, the menu mainly features fish dishes. There is a parking lot at the restaurant, so why not stop by? The prices were also reasonable.
View on GoogleWhat an incredible meal and experience. One of the highlights of our trip. We capped a long day of road tripping to the Obama area to end up back in the outer Kyoto area looking for dinner and found this GEM! Fantastic service and kindness from the chef and his mother. Truly kind and sweet people. FYI cash only. The food was so good. From the 5 piece assorted sashimi, the eel special, Japan salad, whale bacon, tempura assortment and more. The chef capped the meal off with a special bonus corn tempura which being from the Midwest USA, it was the perfect capper to the meal. Who knew corn tempura was a thing and could be so good!!!! Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience and perfect end to our day! Domo arigato!
View on GoogleThis place is a family owned business, mother and son. We came in very hungry after a long day of car travel, and had a great time. The food was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was lovely. The chef made us corn tempura after our meal as a treat. Plus the parking lot is great! (because Kyoto parking can be very stressful for a tourist:)
View on GoogleI visited for lunch around 12:00 on the weekend. It was very popular and fully booked, so it was a good thing I made a phone reservation in advance. The garage is on the restaurant premises, but there might be times when you can't park. The sashimi set menu is cost-effective and the content is satisfying. Among the items that change depending on the daily stock, the white fish this time was of particularly high quality and delicious. The tempura ordered on the side was also served quickly, and I could really feel the quality of it being freshly fried. The chef is energetic and seems busy, but the speed of food service and the taste are consistent. If you are looking for a delicious fish lunch in this area, this is a place I would like to recommend.
View on GoogleI think this is the number one restaurant in Kyoto that I know of. The atmosphere of the shop, the polite Kyoto dialect, the polite customer service, the freshness of the fish, and the taste of the soba and tempura (they let you eat it with salt, it's exquisite) are all impeccable. I bought some vegetables that are sometimes sold for my wife who loves vegetables, and these were also cheap and exquisite. The only complaint would be the inconvenience of transportation? I have my own car so I don't mind at all, but public transport requires taking the city bus from Katsura Station, so it's difficult to go alone... But if you go in the autumn leaves 🍁 season combined with Oharano Shrine (the afternoon mugwort dumplings and mugwort tea are the best 👍) and Shohoji Temple, it's 🙆🏻♀️ (Lunch / Isaribi -> Afternoon Oharano Shrine (enjoying mugwort dumplings and mugwort tea), Shohoji Temple). Unlike the Rakuchu area, which is always cluttered due to the overtourism that is currently a problem, I think you can feel the real Kyoto.
