I was walking by and decided to check this place out. This is a standing izakaya, it’s a small and cozy place. The staff were very friendly and many of the customers are locals that just got off work. If you want a place to have some food and a drink while watching them at work, this is the place to go. Great way to meet some locals. The food is DELICIOUS.

Small and cozy tachinomi (standing bar) in a residential area close to Doshisha University. Wide selection of sake and other Japanese liquors, and good offer of bite-sized side dishes to go with the drinks. Menu is Japanese only.

Great neighborhood standing bar with an exceptional sake list, kind service, good food fairly priced. My #1 place near my home by far. Try the kushikatsu and sakes from across Japan. English menu, too.

I haven’t even finished my food here, but I needed to stop and make a review for the fried chicken. It is the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life and I need other people to try it too. Maybe the other things we order will also be great, as I expect they will be, but I cannot speak to those as I am reviewing This establishment in the middle of my meal. Drink options are wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly. Highly recommend.
