This cafe is very well designed and has a peaceful atmosphere. We came twice during our visit to Kyoto as another cafe we were planning to go was too busy. The french toast, canellè, coffee and matcha latte were delicious. I got some matcha powder to bring home as well as the latte was so good! Strong and nutty the way I like it.

Cozy cafe outside the crowded area. Easy to find. Simple drinks and food, sweets. Wi-Fi available, good place to hang out or work. Visiting from the States, glad we found this place

The place itself is so aesthetic and beautiful. The food and matcha were okay, but the atmosphere definitely makes it worth a visit.

I have mixed feelings about this bar. The space is very beautiful, although I was a bit disappointed by the faux concrete tables. There are no proper spots to store your bag, jacket or belongings, and they manage orders through buzzers, which feels more appropriate for a fast food place than for an upscale café. Also, the canelé and the cookie we ordered were not quite what they should have been However, and this is the key point, they had the most delicious roasted nuts mocha we’ve ever had, and we’re saying this as Italians. The hot chocolate and the black coffee were very good as well We came back a second time specifically for the roasted nuts mocha. It was simply incredible In the end, I did enjoy this place. I think that by adjusting a few details, such as adding proper bag or jacket holders, it could come very close to being perfect I also appreciated not having to interact much with the staff. I understand why it’s self service. It feels like the kind of place you go to when you need to switch off and relax a bit, maybe enjoy some silence. But then, why the noisy buzzers? I think a more suitable solution could be found, something that better matches the atmosphere of this special place :)
