This is an Omakase (chef decide menu set dinner) restaurant for dinner. A cozy 10-seat counter set-up that chef cooks in front of you. I asked hotel concierge to make a reservation for us as I can only speak very limited Japanese 😅 Although there is only omakase option for dinner but you can decide your budget (minimum ¥5000 plus 10% service charge, cash only) The chef has been running his restaurant for 36 years. We are truly impressed by the ingredients, quality, skill set and reasonable price for our dinner! We can tell the chef uses high quality ingredients (he even showed us the wasabi 😄). He cooks super efficiently in front of us. Both myself and my husband are Japanese food lovers. There are several dishes we’ve never tried before. Very unique and tasty! Overall a super satisfying dinner. The chef can only speak very limited English and my Japanese is very limited too. We all tried our best to communicate using body language, Google pictures, Google translator etc…. I really regret I didn’t study Japanese 😅😅😅 In conclusion, I strongly recommend to try this place when in Kyoto. Reservation is required. Cash only. This dinner is one of the memorable dinners! Just a FYI. We ordered ¥6000 per person Omakase dinner. There are 10 dishes plus soba noodles plus dessert.

It’s my sixth time in Japon and it’s the best food experience I’ve had so far !Try the tasting course if you want to experience the whole thing. The meals are both beautiful and delicious. The chef and his wife are very kind they even offered me a small book about Kyoto. Pretty hard to find but absolutely worth it. Slide the door open !

お昼の蕎麦もオススメですが、時間に余裕のある方は、予約して夜のコースをぜひ。 神社で「包丁式」も行っていた大将の包丁裁きだけではなく、次から次に造り出される料理は、丁寧な仕事がなされていて、どれもが美味しい! 酒の肴になる珍味が出ることもあります。 大将が手打ちをした蕎麦も美味! 旨い酒に、美味いアテ。大将の男気に、女将さんの暖かさ。 行けばいくほどハマる、不思議で素敵な店です。 添付の写真は、夜のおまかせコースです。(写真の順番が逆になっていますが…) 色合いもよくてキレイ。もちろんすべて美味！

風味豊かな蕎麦、あっさりしつつも美味しいツユ、気配りの素晴らしさ、かなり満足できるお店。 夜のコース料理はお手軽に美味しいものを少しずつ戴けるので素晴らしい。

京都のお昼。Googleマップで見つけたお店。 表に「予約のみ」とあり、おそるおそる、ひとり行けますか？と尋ねたら入れてもらえてラッキー🤞 ざるそば膳。 天ぷらサクサク　アツアツ。 お蕎麦はつるつる美味しかったです。 炊き込みご飯が蟹身入り(蟹の味がした気がします。)贅沢なお昼、最後に蕎麦湯も熱々で。 出し方のタイミングも絶妙で、素敵なお店でした。 ご馳走さまでしたー。
