"Fuya Yanagi Midori" is a machiya cafe in Kyoto City that utilizes a 100-year-old Kyoto townhouse. Located in the center of Kyoto City, a 6-minute walk from Hankyu Railway Kyoto-Kawaramachi Station, you can taste authentic matcha in a calm space. The tea leaves used are from Minamiyamashiro Village, which has supported the 800-year history of Uji tea. We serve matcha with a gentle umami and clear aroma, carefully whisked one cup at a time. At our shop, we offer a menu that makes the most of the individuality of tea leaves, such as matcha latte and matcha sweets. Matcha terrine and matcha brulee are made with less sweetness, designed to make the original flavor of matcha stand out. For those looking for a matcha cafe in Kyoto, we deliver the charm of Uji matcha from Minamiyamashiro Village. Fuya...

I just had the most magnificent matcha cheesecake — and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’m doing a happy dance right now 💃🍰✨ Perfectly balanced between the earthy richness of matcha and the creamy sweetness of cheesecake, every bite felt like a cozy hug with a green tea twist. The texture? Silky and cloud-like. The flavor? Deep, elegant, and absolutely addictive. If happiness had a flavor, it would taste exactly like this. 🫶🍵 Edit: I came back for the Ice matcha latte and the hojicha brownie. I couldn’t really taste the matcha and could taste milk only so if you look for that intense flavor it won’t be in this specific latte.

Really unique and interesting desserts. They have great tasting, rich matcha (affordable too) as well as a tea tasting platter of different roasts and sweet pairings. Amazing ambience & all around great experience for a midday rest

Beautiful place and fab experience making matcha latte. We also had the most delicious matcha cheesecake! One of their staff spoke perfect English so it was easier to follow along, and the rest of the staff are also so lovely. Highly recommended if you love matcha latte! (As an Aussie from Narrm (Melbourne), where we are spoilt with amazing coffee and food, I don’t say this lightly.) Side note: I lost my favourite silk scarf that night (25th Oct) and they were so helpful to advise me to file a Lost Item report at the Shimogyo Police Station in hopes that some good soul turns it in, as what usually happens in Japan 💖

The matcha was amazing! I had the green tea and citrus brownie and a matcha latte. Both were really delicious and I would highly recommend this spot.
