Absolutely amazing experience! Everything is made fresh by hand, and you can even sit right in front of the chef, who is also the owner of the restaurant. Watching him cook really adds to the experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, with great music and a welcoming vibe. The drinks were excellent, especially the draft beer. For food, we had the tortilla chips with guacamole, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The buffalo chicken wings were easily a 100/10—without a doubt some of the best I’ve ever had. We also ordered the cheese quesadilla and the three-piece beef tacos, and both were absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for authentic, handmade food with an amazing atmosphere and outstanding service, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Chicken Village in Emmachi is one of those brilliant little surprises you only find when you wander off the main streets. It’s a quiet, tucked‑away chicken joint run by incredibly friendly owners who speak great English and make you feel welcome the second you walk in. We went in expecting a cheap KFC‑style spot because of the name… and instead discovered a full Mexican‑inspired menu hiding in plain sight. Not only was the fried chicken genuinely great, but the tacos and quesadillas were gorgeous — so good we basically ordered the entire menu without regret. The atmosphere was wholesome too. We gave an elderly local ¥1000 for a birthday beer, and he immediately turned it into a round of tequila shots for us. That’s the kind of place this is — warm, unexpected, and full of good stories. Absolutely loved it. We’ll probably squeeze in one more visit before heading home, even if it’s just for a quick taco. “Barriga llena, corazón contento” — full belly, happy heart.

A true oasis in the Jurakumawari area, Chicken Village is a delightful spot with an exceptional atmosphere. The cuisine is refined and thoughtfully prepared, featuring subtle yet beautiful nods to my beloved Mexico. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The cocktails are perfectly balanced and full of flavour. I highly recommend the fried fish taco — outstanding. 👌🏼

Ate here on a weeknight it wasn’t that busy. But the staff seemed kinda hesitant to talk with us. Came here for the tacos, but the chicken was more tasty. Being from the West Coast, where we have a lot of Mexicanos, I know what good tacos taste like. To be honest, I don’t know how anyone from back home who’d say their tacos pass for good or legit. I’m sure when this space gets busy and you’re enjoying drinks it could be more fun but from just eating and trying to have dinner and 1 drink, I was not that impressed. Sorry but I have to be completely honest on this one. I’ve had tacos in Japan before and they were way better so I know it’s possible to find. Cheers

We just arrived in Kyoto, and this was our first stop for dinner, and what a great choice it was! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, cooked just right. The mojito was super refreshing, with lots of fresh mint and a nice, well-balanced taste. And the salad? So vibrant, fresh, and bursting with flavor, topped with a tasty dressing that brought it all together. The staff were also incredibly friendly, helpful, and quick. Their warm service really added to the whole experience. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area, great food, great vibes!
