茶室 古香庵Chashitsu Ko Kaori Iori
|Advance reservation system|Please contact us if you wish to use. A tea room located on the top floor of the Hosomi Museum. Known as the last work of the late master carpenter of Sukiya architecture, Nakamura Sotoji, this space is where the neat traditional beauty and the unique modern architecture of the museum building by Tadashi Oe harmonize exquisitely. Made open to the east, you can overlook the peaks of Higashiyama while sitting across the rows of trees in Okazaki Park. In a traditional atmosphere, you can face art works up close and come into direct contact with the Japanese culture we want to cherish. In the fresh tea room, enjoy the atmosphere of Kyoto while admiring the changing seasons. In addition to daily tea and "tea experience", authentic tea ceremonies are also held. Also available for rent...

During the COVID period, it was only for viewing, but now it seems to be by reservation, and you can enjoy tea or a tea ceremony experience. It is said that you can make a reservation by calling the Hosomi Museum. I definitely want to take advantage of it.
