Education center on the quartz-rich sand found on nearby beaches, which makes noise when disturbed.

This is a hidden gem. We didn't know sand, especially singing sand, can be so interesting. My young kids enjoyed and spent much time looking through the microscopes and looking at the different seashells. One can really appreciate the museum's dedication to conserve and promote awareness of Kotohiki sandy beaches. There's also some activities, eg candles, frames; which you have to sign up in advance.

Nice museum about sands and turtles. The staff is very friendly and has a good story to tell (in Japanese). There is also some handcrafted art made by shells, worth a visit.

They got some English explanations on the exhibit. Best place to bring kids to learn about ocean, sand and marine pollution

The staff is too good! I'd pretty awesome conversation with the staff. The museum is so interesting the fact that it has such unique stuff that you won't be able to find anywhere else! I'm glad that I went to visit this museum! Thank you

Such a great museum. We travelled in search of singing sand, and ended up here for an hour or so. Super interesting info on sand and geology, interactive sand instruments, and a really friendly and knowledgable staff.
