A great price for a lot of food. The owners are super friendly and the broth has a lot of flavor.

I ordered regular ramen 850 yen. The appearance, there is back fat, ramen that looks like Ra-Ra-Tei. The taste, for me it was a little thin... Should I say light?? I love green onions so I was happy because a lot was put in♪ I bought chashu 300 yen for take-out and made fried rice, it was very!! delicious! The parking is also very large together with the pachinko shop. It's behind the ramen shop.

I visited Hosokawa Joyo branch on Saturday at 11:10. The parking lot is shared with the pachinko parlor next door. Inside, there were 11 counter seats and two 4-person tatami tables. There were 8 customers ahead of me, but I was guided to a counter seat without waiting. I had the chashu (regular) for ¥1,050. It is a Kyoto-style backfat soy sauce ramen; imagine it as a gentler, lighter version of First Asahi or Rauraitei. The noodles are thin and straight, and the thinly sliced chashu is tender and not greasy. The menma and plenty of green onions were a delicious accent.

Hosokawa Joyo branch. This is a famous shop that serves delicious ramen in my neighborhood. The menu is just ramen, chashu ramen, gyoza, kimchi, rice, and boiled eggs. This shows their confidence and likely helps with efficiency and cost reduction. This time I ordered a regular ramen and gyoza. It is a Kyoto-style backfat soy sauce ramen, and if you think of it as a gentler, lighter version of First Asahi or Rauraitei, you're mostly right. The noodles are standard thin, straight noodles, and if you order them firm, you might taste the flour more. The thinly sliced chashu is tender but not greasy. A bit of menma and plenty of green onions add an accent that elevates the ramen's perfection. The shop has a retro atmosphere that retains the feel of the Showa era. The gyoza is also Kyoto-style, which is somehow comforting. Watching the master fight with the ramen alone is cool, but also worrying. Thank you for the meal.

10 years? Or maybe more... it's been a long time since I last visited. I used to live within walking distance, but this time I came by car. The parking lot is fully available at the nearby pachinko parlor, and since the pachinko area was full, I parked in the spacious lot across the prefectural road and walked over. It was past 12:30 on a Sunday, the counter seats were almost full, so I sat in the last empty seat at the end. The menu is posted on the wall, and the ramen types are just combinations of with/without chashu and large/regular, very simple. There is no fried rice, and it seems many people order rice on the side. I ordered the chashu ramen (1050 yen) and a boiled egg (50 yen). At a glance, the ramen looks like Rauraitei's with lots of backfat and a little chili powder, the difference being that Rauraitei's soup is clear soy sauce, while this one is cloudy. The noodles are on the soft side by general standards, so I should have ordered them firm. The amount of noodles felt generous. Maybe that's why they weren't separated well lol. The chashu is plentiful as shown in the photo, very filling! However, there was a slight smell, and I wondered if my wife wouldn't like it while eating. Since it's a long-time popular shop, fans must be repeating because it's delicious, but for me, the soy sauce flavor was a bit lacking, so I'll probably return when I've forgotten about it lol.
