5-star food, 5-star atmosphere. Filling lunch in a former teahouse! Chatsubo Yoshida is definitely in my top three for restaurants in central Kyoto by the Sea. For 1500 yen, the lunch set comes with a multi-dish meal with a huge variety of locally prepared and grown foods, along with main dishes that range from chicken, to fish, to hamburger (depending on the day - for dietary restrictions check ahead of time). They also make a handmade matcha (or your choice of coffee or black tea), served with small sweets and (usually) local seasonal fruit as well. The atmosphere is also incredible, with old tea jars and boxes beautifully displayed on the walls, and antiques and unique architecture throughout the restaurant. There are tables, a private room, a tatami area, and another private room in the back of the restaurant. I have been here at least eight times. The set meal varies each time I go, but it is always delicious. The owners are also really friendly and welcoming. It is conveniently located in downtown Ayabe, walking distance from the train station, Ayabe Rose Garden (Gunze Square), and Shorekiji Temple.

This is a shop with warmth like "my home" that renovated a single house in a street like small Kyoto. The parking lot is not wide and is slanted, so those who go by car, it is better to go with a compact car rather than a family car for a smoother experience. The food is served with seasonal items on beautiful plates. Everything has a gentle seasoning and is heartwarming. Items like chewy namafu with a cheese flavor were very delicious. Fish bones and shrimp shells are carefully removed, and I thought it was a kind consideration for the elderly and children. Because it is a matcha shop, there is no juice on the drink menu (basically). You can choose from coffee, tea, and matcha brewed on the spot. Because they handle serving food with a few people, the speed of food coming out is slow. The restroom is in the style of borrowing this house's toilet after going up inside. I recommend you go after making a reservation.

I visited around 12 o'clock, but the atmosphere of the shop felt calm and not crowded. The lunch set in the photo only has one type but the taste was the best. It seems to be classified as a cafe, but the lunch set was 1600 yen and had an atmosphere like a high-class restaurant. It arrived in less than 5 minutes after ordering, rice can be refilled for free, and the staff was also very warm. A cafe located about a 5-minute walk from Ayabe Station. I entered the shop after noon. Although it was Saturday lunchtime, there were few other customers, and I was able to enter without waiting time. The types of menus are few, there are only two ways: lunch set and drinks. This time, I ordered a lunch set with cake, and the time until serving was about 7 minutes. The lunch set had a moderate seasoning, not too thick or too thin, the number of dishes was large, and the amount was very satisfying. The rice was placed on a magnolia leaf on top of a bowl, and the smell was very good. When I ordered cake and matcha for dessert, the staff carefully taught me tea etiquette. From the menu and the atmosphere of the shop, I felt this is a shop recommended for those who want to spend time leisurely. Other customers also felt older, and I felt there were few young people, but if you are a person who wants to enjoy a delicious lunch or tea leisurely in a quiet environment, I think you will be satisfied regardless of age.

Today I stopped by with my 1-year-old son. He is at an age where he likes to walk around, but I am grateful because they always treat us generously. The food has a gentle seasoning, so my son also picked up the stew cut into small pieces and ate it greedily. The fukinoto miso served with the radish stew is the taste of spring! After eating, I had matcha and the main sweet (today was sakura mochi). You can also make matcha yourself. Sea of Kyoto coins could also be used smoothly. Thank you for the meal!

I reserved at 11:30 and had lunch. [Parking] Yes. There is a supermarket next to it, but there is a separate place from that. If you come from the station direction, there is a sign a few doors past the shop. [Food] The food is 1 type of lunch + drink + or drink + cake *Because it's not confusing, it's good. [Deliciousness] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It feels like home cooking with many types. [Popularity] ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I noticed it was full when I went home.
