I went to カフェ幹, which I'd been curious about. They told me to choose any seat, so I sat by the window and chose the strawberry and raspberry pudding cake and iced coffee. Both the cake and iced coffee were very delicious, and I could relax quietly. I'd like to visit again when the cake changes.
View on GoogleA building standing quietly beside the road, its appearance alone suggesting history and a certain nostalgia. That impression becomes real as soon as you step inside. It's just like Grandma's house. Ornaments, chests of drawers, carved transom panels, guest chairs— you feel history and nostalgia everywhere. Apparently the old building makes it difficult to install air conditioning. There was a fan, but it was especially hot that day, so I was drenched in sweat. However, the cakes I ordered were handmade, gluten-free, and carefully finished, making full use of vegetables and plants grown in their own garden. They were all unusual creations, featuring things like chrysanthemum greens and pine needles. I'm usually accustomed to cakes made with fresh cream or chocolate, but this was my first time tasting cakes like these, made so carefully from their ingredients. Being able to enjoy visually, too, the distinctive flavor that comes with an old-house café made the experience all the more moving.
View on GoogleIt's off the main road, so it's best to enter it into your navigation system. It seems to be closed often on weekdays. As you'd expect of an old house, it has character. They also sold antique furniture and kimono. Apparently the cakes change with the seasons.
View on GoogleIt has a very historic atmosphere, the lady owner is very nice, and the food is good, but that's not the main point—the main point is experiencing the atmosphere here.
View on GoogleI visited a café in a 100-year-old house^_^ Not just the building, but the furniture and little objects have plenty of atmosphere too. The lighting is subdued, and everyone speaks quietly, as though respecting this characterful space. The handmade gluten-free cake was delicious. Even though the owner runs everything alone, they chatted warmly with me as I left. Apparently this season's operation ends in October. I recommend checking Instagram beforehand^_^
