It's an awesome historic main gate for an even more awesome distillery and experience! You can look at it from the outside without a ticket, but should reserve your free tour in advanced to enjoy it fully!

A tour of the Nikka Whisky factory in Yoichi that I'd always wanted to visit. I learned a lot, and it's a place I'd like to go back to. I couldn't drink alcohol this time, so after the tour I had Calpis and Juroku-cha, but the tasting after the tour looks amazing. (I just watched the people next to me drink) It's by reservation, so if you book in advance you're sure to get in, which is reassuring. It's a spot you can enjoy even with kids. This time I came with a baby, and I was grateful that every restroom has a diaper-changing table. There's also a nursing room and it's baby-welcoming, which was great.

You can't enter without a reservation, but touring with a guide lets you experience the setting of the morning drama "Massan", and it's wonderful. The scenery, the atmosphere, and the free tasting at the end made me glad I made a reservation.

I highly recommend booking the distillery tour. It's free and can be booked on the website. I recommend reserving at least 20 days before your trip. It was a different kind of experience. The tour takes about 1 hour.
