As part of the free tour, we got to stop by here and see the original office of the founder himself, Masataka Taketsuru and about the creation of the product name Nikka. We couldn't go into the office, but we can see all the furniture and decor from the windows outside. The tour guide is only in English, but there is an audio translation available to download and use. That was easy and convenient. To see this side of the distillery, you'll need to book for a tour, which is free or paid depending on your choice. Amazing work, to all the staff here for keeping this historical landmark well maintained to this day!

The former office of the Yoichi Distillery is a historic building located in Yoichi Town, Hokkaido. This office is part of the distillery established by Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky, as a base for whisky production. Founded in 1934, the Yoichi Distillery made a major contribution to the development of the Japanese whisky industry. The former office strongly retains the architectural style of the time, giving visitors a sense of the historic atmosphere. Today, it is also popular as a tourist spot where visitors can learn about its history and understand the whisky-making process. The Yoichi Distillery as a whole has become a place that symbolizes Japanese whisky culture, where tradition and innovation come together.

Built in July 1934 as the office of the founder, Masataka Taketsuru. Inside, you can view furniture, a safe, liquor, and more from that era through the glass. During the tour, this is where you can hear about the origin of the name Nikka.

This is the office from the company's founding days. It's a small building, and inside are a desk and a safe from that time, plus a row of bottles containing liquor from back then. On the factory tour, this is where you'll hear about the origin of the name Nikka.
