We found this place on google map, and only found out that it is a famous restaurant when we arrived. We arrived about 10 minutes before the opening, and there were already few people queuing up in the front. The restaurant is not very big, few floor table and counter seats. We order the food slowly since there are so many things on the menu. And there is no English menu either. After we ordered, the food takes a longtime to come out. There is free green tea, self-service on the table, it was pretty good. The staffs are Japanese speaking only, quite friendly. The food is quite good, not the best, but I would say better than tourist trap in Otaru. And the price is much more reasonable. I ordered Chirashi bowl for 1800 yen, it comes with tempura soba, so i was very full. The bowl itself has a lottttt of rice, but the seafood was delicious. So I have 4 stars. We also order fried Saba fish, it was bigger than we thought, it’s not super special, but it was delicious, especially when we were super hungry. Overall, it is a good seafood restaurant. Reasonable price, just prepare your time.
View on GoogleMe and my wife love the nostalgic feeling of the place family run business. We feel the warmth of everyone! Immediately seated we were given a glass of hot green tea and we were nicely given the English translated menu as they probably tell we don’t speak jap. Salmon miso soup is highly recommended! Deeply flavoured with salmon and the meat don’t taste overcooked. They were really generous with the portion for the double layered sashimi! I had the assorted sushi with thick cuts. Really enjoyed a good dinner and probably we were there pretty late at 7pm+ there was no crowd. If not for trying out other food spots, we would likely go back and try out other food on the menu!
View on GoogleGreat Find! Freshness is key for this "House". Generous serving and all prepped seafood dosed on our bowl is just marvelous. Salmon Soup is very comforting especially on a cold winter day. Extremely popular among the local and prepare to queue a fair bit even after lunch hours. Recommended stop over for road trip up north east of Hokkaido!
