This is a classic Japanese Kissaten, the kind of coffee shop you have to appreciate to love. It's been around forever, a genuine local spot for coffee and comforting, no-fuss food. The place is a bit run-down, with a strong scent of cigarettes and a super rustic vibe, but that's part of its charm. I personally adore these kinds of places—they make me feel nostalgic, maybe because I'm older and yearn for a simpler time. These shops are often a one-woman show, with a single lady handling everything from greeting customers to cooking and cleaning. The coffee is traditionally prepared, and the Napolitan pasta is exactly what you'd expect. I hope she can keep this special place going for as long as she wants.
View on GoogleBreakfast The lady is very kind. Hotel breakfasts every day get boring, so a retro coffee shop. Smoking is allowed at every seat, so if that bothers you It was a nice place.
View on GoogleThere's a classic counter too, and the place has a bold style. You can have coffee from the morning. The breakfast is very filling💯
View on GoogleVisited Wakkanai on a trip. Had breakfast here. The morning set was 1000 yen. It included coffee, salad, ham and eggs, potato salad, and toast. A little pricey for breakfast, but the contents were decent.
View on GoogleVisited for breakfast during our trip, around seven on Monday. We ordered 2 morning sets at 1000 yen. The menu listed coffee as the drink, but we were told other drinks were okay too, so we ordered coffee and orange juice. We were the first customers, followed by another traveler, then 2.3 people who seemed to be regulars trickled in. Perhaps because it was busier than usual, mama looked busy cooking while serving drinks to the regulars. The drinks came right away, and breakfast arrived after about 20 minutes. The plate had salad, toast, and ham and eggs. The toast was already buttered and the salad had mayonnaise, but mama also brought soy sauce, saying, “Put this on it. The soy sauce comes out when you press here.” The potato salad had onion in it and was very delicious. There was plenty of cabbage salad, and the sliced tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh and tasty too. Quite a generous portion. The building itself is old, and the place might be a former lounge? Or maybe it's still a lounge at night?? So it may not suit people wanting somewhere that feels clean or stylish, but we enjoyed it, including the retro atmosphere. Thank you for the meal.
