It's difficult to find good South Asian food in Japan, but this was certainly an exception. The Men's set is great value - all this and a beer coming to less than ¥2000. The staff speak great English and were very helpful, polite and entertaining. I went for the kukhura curry to try something different (and Nepali), which was delicious, can recommend.
View on GoogleIf you are wanting a change of cuisine after a week or 2 of eating at Izakayas or the usual Japanese Teppenyaki, Sushi, Sashimi, Tonkatsu, etc, then come here if you're in the neighbourhood. Very friendly serving staff - the crew running the place are from Nepal and India. While the heat level of the curries has been watered-down to suit the Japanese clientele, you can always request them to add more chilli to your vindaloo curry to bump it back up to original heat (which is what i did). Aloo jira and tandoori was done ever so nicely for my taste buds. So nice to be able to have something hot and spicy (these are 2 different things as you can have one without the other) midway through the trip. Note : Everyone who posts a food review for this eating place will have their own taste preferences. Good or bad is subjective depending on each person's taste buds as i might hate what you like and vice-versa. So both high and low rating reviews given by everyone posting their own review here are subjective and not assurances that the food in this place will be to your liking. That said, if your taste buds are like mine, you will like/hate accordingly and give the same type of review for this place.
View on GoogleTasty food. Such a friendly couple running this restaurant. We enjoyed our evening. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleI've been to Japan several times and have never found a place stranger than Wakkanai. There's nothing to see (except Rishiri and Rebun) and I had a hard time even finding a place to eat. Many restaurants don't welcome foreign tourists (to put it politely). Luckily, the guys at Namaste have always been very kind and accommodating. The food is also excellent.
View on GoogleThe food wasn't that bad at all. I had Dal curry with Nan. The Nan was nice, soft and crispy. The curry was pretty standard, but good. Though, not for the price. The service, oh geez.... The lady who served me acted like she hated every second being there, and every task was a bleak glimpse into the abyss she had now become accustomed to. Not rude, but totally apathetic.
