Visited this restaurant for dinner during our first night in Wakkanai. The food was great with reasonable price. The service was good. The owner was friendly and approachable. We were the only customers while we had the meal, and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Definitely recommend to anyone who is travelling in Wakkanai!

My wife and I arrived in Wakkanai late and came across a sushi restaurant that was miraculously still open. We were drawn in by their great reviews and decided to give it a try. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with the biggest smiles from the husband and wife team running the place. They were so friendly and instantly made us feel welcome. The sushi was skillfully prepared. When I asked the chef how long he had been doing this, he told me over 50 years. You could see it in every movement. Each piece of fish was incredibly fresh and the rice was perfect. We have eaten at some of the best omakase restaurants across Japan, and both of us agreed that this was one of our favourite experiences. What really made the experience special was the warmth and kindness of the owners. They were genuinely curious about us and treated us like friends visiting from Canada rather than just guests. That sincerity made the evening unforgettable. Wakkanai is lucky to have people who care so deeply about their craft and their community. We can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful sushi shop at Wakkanai. I think it’s the best store! I enjoyed the process that owner making sushi. It’s a Japan port city so don’t doubt seafood fresh or not. That is not a respect question! May this shop always be blessed!

Excellent sushi and maybe the friendliest service ever. This is what you get when you do things from your heart.

What a lovely place!! Sushi dishes are made right in front of you (we had the nigiri trays) and they were absolutely amazing!! The owners are very friendly, hospitable and attentive; I managed to order exactly what we wanted with my minimal Japanese. Following my meal, we had a lovely conversation despite the language barrier. Highly recommended, will be dining there the next time I am in Wakkanai.
