I wanted to really like this place, after the previous izakaya rejected me from sitting down there for being a foreigner. Sadly, this establishment, while accepting me, short changed with not serving the complimentary tofu appetizer that came with the set menu, and gave small portions of lamb meat for the ghengis khan compared to the other Japanese diners that came in afterwards. The meal itself: this bar has no ventilation for these grills so you'll smell like food afterwards, and the rice you'll need to order comes separately. Veggies were very small portions. If you're craving genghis khan, I'd hold off until Sapporo.

Just had our X’mas eve dinner at Youshi Jungisukan, the lamb BBQ was superb. Different portions of the lamb was served and explained. Fantastic experience! A highly recommended restaurant in Wakkanai located just behind The Grand Hotel Wakkanai. I have tried the Sapporo Beer Garden Jungisukan BBQ, but this restaurant is so much better on their meat selections and portions served.

I called in to ask for reservations IN JAPANESE, the lady who picked up the phone immediately said “ today is closed, soLi”, although I could hear the busy background sound. This is some other level of racism, wow
