Found this place by pure chance, I saw it just across the street as I was receiving my rental car from the rental office. I asked the attendant about it and he strongly recommended it! I went to check their opening hours on the door and a lady customer was coming out; seeing I was curious about the place, she recommended that I take a hotate kare, saying how delicious it was. As I already had lunch plans that day (uni don), I decided to come the next day! It was easy to get a table, the staff is very nice and ordering is simple. Pick your soup, the main protein, the spice level and how much rice you want. Very sadly, they had run out of hotate soup that particular day, so I had the stewed pork and it was delicious, tender and all the vegetables were tasty and still crispy, not overcooked! Excellent experience and clearly recommended.

I was surprised to find a branch of this famous restaurant from Sapporo. The food is just as good and there’s no crowd/queue! The menu is only in Japanese so you’ll have to rely on Google translate!

On Sept 17, 2025, while my wife and I were still on an Airport limousine, we spotted the restaurant and had no hesitation to have dinner here. The last time we frequented the chain restaurant was in June this year at Tomamu. We didn’t have to queue up for the delicious soupcurry and felt safe as no guns were allowed… Postscript We came again on Sept 19, 2025, having just returned from Rishiri and Rebun Islands. We ordered Sausages and Bacon soupcurry. I think the one with pork tasted the best.

This is different from the typical Japanese curry most of us know. 🍛 This is a soup curry and it is amazingly yummy. There's option for just vegetables or with different types of meats etc. I had the vegetable curry cos' I wanted to head to an izakaya for skewers. So pleasantly surprised by the taste of this new way of having curry. They made vegetables taste so good! Must try if you are in Wakkanai, especially on this fold winter night!

A wonderful experience. Discovery of a new taste and new way to eat curry. Garaku or soup curry. You can choose whether between vegetables, porc or even chicken, the degree of spicy (number 5 is hot and good for those who like spicy food), and you can select the size of the rice. There is additionnal topings to increase the flavor and tastes. A place recommended to go!
