This is my 3rd motorcycle tour of Hokkaido🏍️✨ Usually I ride National Route 106 toward Wakkanai and Cape Soya (Soya Sunset Road), but this time I made a little detour to the "Miyanodai Observatory" in the Sarobetsu Plain😊 The parking lot and toilets are well maintained🧰 and free, too👍 Beside the stairs up to the observatory, cute statues of a mother cow and calf greet you🐄💕 Up on the observatory, you can take in the vast Sarobetsu Plain at a glance, with Rishiri Fuji clearly visible beyond it⛰️✨ I was moved by the grand natural scenery so typical of Hokkaido, a little different from the coastline. Few tourists, so it's a hidden spot where you can enjoy the view at your leisure. If you're heading toward Soya, it's an observatory I really recommend stopping by.😊

A relaxing park; you also see people stopping by for a break between work. There's parking and a 🚾. The observatory has a good view. On sunny days, it can be backlit, making the surrounding scenery hard to photograph.

Stopped by on September 22, 2025 Arrived around 15:30; there was nobody there. The parking lot is spacious, with the toilets at the front and the observatory at the back. The view from the observatory is great~; it's a real shame that, given the time, it was backlit. I think it's a quiet, nice place to appreciate the scenery.

It was a weekday evening, and there was no one at all. The road there is narrow, but it's short and paved, so I think it's easy to access. The free parking lot was paved and spacious too. *Toilets available
