The first time I came here, I didn’t enter the volcano museum and only explored the free museum on the first and second floors. I found it quite informative, and there were hardly any people, so it felt like I had the whole museum to myself. There are many interactive exhibits where you can flip charts or doors to learn more. It’s also a nice place to sit and rest, though eating is not allowed. A nominal fee is required to enter the volcano museum, and on my second visit, I decided to go. I think it’s definitely worth the price—I really enjoyed the 3D exhibits. You put on the 3D goggles and can experience a 360-degree panoramic view of different scenes, whether in a forest, on a lake, or underwater. It was a completely new experience for me. I loved turning my head to explore every angle; it truly felt as though I was there. It was such a memorable experience. I highly recommend visiting the volcano science museum too, instead of just stopping at the visitor center—it’s definitely worth your time.
View on GoogleIts an awesome view of Mount Yotei with clear views of the lake while soaking our feet in the public foot bath. Worth the visit totally
View on GoogleA snow-covered lakeshore, misty mountains in the distance, and a perfectly still lake. Winter here feels less like cold, and more like a quiet shade of blue.
View on GoogleVery good. I think more information and displays would be make the place better 😊
View on GoogleFun little stop with a paid volcanic museum section. Collect the shikotsu-toya national park stamp and the volcano museum stamp.
