"Meguriya" is a restaurant in the center of Toyako Onsen that values its ingredients and the turn of the seasons. In summer, lunch is served every day. We offer plates centered on fresh, seasonal vegetables from the rice paddies and fields around Lake Toya, baked goods made with pesticide-free rice flour (gluten-free), onigiri plates, venison curry, and more. Drinks include coffee, café latte, a variety of homemade drinks, Sapporo Classic, whisky, and carefully selected sake. Some menu items are available for takeout. In the evening, we also take reservations, private bookings, and host events!

A place filled with warmth and cosiness. As always I was attracted to their book collection. They had local zines #supportlocalart. They have a piano and music nights too. The server was friendly and we decided on our orders. When the food arrived, it was so delightful because it looked too pretty to eat. The taste was also quite good especially the venison (not vegan) bowl The vegan brownies were also realllllyy good. Loved it a lot.

The food is so fresh and unique. Only place I can find veggies like this in Japan. They forage all the ingredients from the forest every morning. Also just the friendliest staff. They all are so kind and welcoming. One customer said they couldn’t get a taxi to their hotel and the owner decided to drive them himself.

Great variety of food, featured two seasonal dishes in summer. Refreshing vibe with relaxing music, staff very polite and helpful.what I have is a seasonal veggie dish. Miso soup and pumpkin soup is very dedicated prepared. I can tasted the multi layer of texture and taste from the dishes. They even have kids size for one of the dishes. The fried chicken on his plate was very juicy. All in all, it was a very superb and unique dinning experience I ever have in Japan. Almost perfect if the menu from QR code have English version. But the staff helped my order so it doesn’t a problem at all.

This place is amazing!!! Had the Budah Bowl and the vegan Brownie and they were some of the best food I’ve had in this trip. Absolutely DELICIOUS. They have some plant based options in their menu.
