This has to be one of the must see destinations in Hokkaido. A serene volcanic caldera lake with an island in the middle, the pristine waters are so clear you can easily see the bottom of the pebbly floor. You can rent various water rides for pleasure cruises and also wait for night fall for the spectacular nightly fireworks display. Truly a memorable sight daytime and night.
View on GoogleThe view was absolutely mesmerizing. The crystal blue waters with Mount Yotei in the background looked straight out of a postcard. I genuinely could not stop clicking photos because every angle looked breathtakingly beautiful. Such a peaceful and unforgettable experience.
View on GoogleThis is my third visit to Lake Toya, and for the first time, I decided to take their cruise. It’s about a 40-minute leisurely ride around the small island in the middle of the lake. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. Since I visited in winter, the rooftop was closed, so seating was only available in the air-conditioned area. I think it would have been nice to feel the cold winter wind on my face, though! There’s a small snack shop on board, but the prices are quite high. I didn’t buy anything, though I saw a few people getting snacks. Being one of the first in the queue, I managed to snag the best spot at the very front of the ship, giving me an amazing view of the lake. I took many photos and videos, and I hope you enjoy them too.

View on GoogleEven with the limits of mist in a January day the views are enchanting. Huge, sweeping views of water, mountains and lakeshore. Even though portions are developed the great majority of the area feels pristine. I am so happy that I made it here. It was easily the highlight of my several days in Hokkaido.
