Great service and great food! We arrived one minute before opening and were seated right away. The restaurant filled up quickly. After the second or third table, the server began telling customers that there would be a 30–40 minute wait, although they could still be seated if a table was available. I believe she meant that service might be delayed because she was managing the dining room herself, but guests were welcome to wait at their tables until she was available to assist them. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was friendly, and the experience was well worth it. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleI nearly cried with tears of joy when that bowl of spicy miso ramen hit the table. It was so good, so satisfying and so flavorful. Lamb grilled with vegi is also delicious. Home made kimchi is a must try. The owner lady is super nice. My son has sesame allergy and the lady accommodated our needs very well.
View on GoogleWhen the portions are 500 g, 1 kg and up, you know you’re in for a feast! Nice small restaurant where the joy of the owner is contageous, and you feel like eating at your friends place. The service was great, no english menus so use Google Translate and you should be fine. You grill your own food, so that was fun for a tourist. If you are not familiar with expression ”food coma”, come to eat here, you will experience that after devouring mountain of meat (and veggies). 10/10
View on GoogleWe arrived about 10 minutes before opening for dinner and there was already a queue forming. The restaurant is run by the loveliest couple, who were warm, welcoming, and able to communicate in basic English. We ordered the medium pork and beef set (1 kg), which turned out to be far more than enough for two people especially with such generous serving of fresh vegetables. Everything was delicious, and the quality of the meat was outstanding. A truly enjoyable and memorable dining experience at Lake Toya. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
View on GoogleThis is like yakiniku with a twist! You put in a lot of vegetables on the hot pan and then top it off with the meat — from what I understand, the steam is supposed to cook the meat on top. We wanted to cook the meat some more so eventually we just mixed the meat and vegetable altogether. We are 4 pax and ordered a total of 1.7kg of meats. Some beef and some lamb. We finished all of it so that says it all! Their kimchi was really a winner!
