Burgers, fried rice & western-style dishes in a rustic restaurant with quirky decor & a terrace.
Birth Beyond the potato fields spreads Lake Tōya, and Mt. Yōtei sets off the ever-changing expressions of the lake. Captivated by this view, we created a small coffee shop. It was July of Showa 21 (1946), a day when the lingering snow gleamed in the mountain folds. Naming Mt. Yōtei is the one who named it. The view from Bōyōtei was outstanding. Oasis The pillars, chairs, and tables were made from the birch trees on the hill behind. The ceiling was laid with itadori cut from nearby. We keep thinking of making this small space an oasis with authentic coffee and carefully selected dishes accompanied by music. Memories It was renovated in Showa 27 (1952), but we have kept the tables, chairs, and ceiling from when we opened as much as possible…

Boyotei Restaurant is probably the best Japanese American restaurants I've ever visited. Upon walking into the restaurant, the classic Japanese house structure, interiors, and seatings will warmly welcome you. The best part of having a meal here at Boyotei is the services you'll get to appreciate. All the staffs here will make sure you'll have a nice meal like mothers and sisters. Hence every dish tasted not just delicious in the mouth but also warmful in your hearts. We ordered their signature Hamburger steak, Hot plate noodles with scallops and mushrooms, Omu Rice, Curry rice with deep-fried pork cutlets, ALL of them are the best Japanese American dishes I've ever had. Except the wonderful Hamburger steak, I personally like the Hot plate noodles with scallops and mushrooms the best, it tasted a bit like the traditional Italian Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, but with more essentials of the seafood. Cause eventually, we're talking about a meal right by the Lake Toya.
View on GoogleHad lunch at this Japanese-Western resto after visiting the Toyako Visitor Centre. . I ordered Salmon a la Meuniere (JPY2300). The pan-seared salmon was buttery with a crispy, flour-dusted skin. It was meaty and succulent, and the lemon helped reduce the fishiness and greasiness of the salmon. There were a few bones in the salmon though. My sis ordered Hamburg Steak (JPY1550). Served sizzling on an iron plat, the pork and beef patty was smothered in demi-glace sauce. The steak was juicy, moist and tender. My bro and his gf ordered Chicken Doria (JPY1800). It was topped with creamy béchamel sauce and melted cheese, and smelled aromatic with the cheese. My dad ordered Scallop & Mushroom Spaghetti (JPY1600). It was served sizzling on an iron plat too. It was tossed with green, red and yellow peppers, making it look very vibrant and colourful. My mom ordered Chicken Rice (JPY1200). It featured a ketchup-based fried rice with chicken and onions. . We originally thought the resto was closed, so we were pleasantly surprised to find it was open! It is definitely better to check their Instagram page for the most accurate opening dates. . With its wooden furniture and vintage decorations like old lamps, the restaurant has a warm and nostalgic ambiance.
View on GoogleNo reservations, only Walk in. Tasty Meals and I love their Crab Fried Rice the most! Friendly Staff and service. Its usually crowded so be prepare to wait for your orders.
View on GoogleA cosy retro style Japanese style western restaurant with may have a long waiting time if there is a crowd. To give you an estimate, we waited for roughly 10-15mins with only a group of 4 before us. Ordered the Pork Chop, Hamburg and the seasonal Asparagus Salad which was all pretty good and tasty. Set meal comes with a plate of ric, a hot tasty cup soup and a choice of coffee or tea. Portion for those are quite small.
View on GoogleLovely and cozy restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. Came in the rain after 1.30. Love the vintage design of the restaurant and the hamburger was delicious!! I wanted to try their soy milk pudding but was sold out. Order early :)
