We discovered this small local restaurant while waiting for the Lake Toya fireworks, and it ended up being one of the most memorable meals of our trip ✨ Ajidokoro Hotto-ya Koko is a cozy little place with only a limited number of seats, but that’s part of its charm. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. One of the most memorable parts of the experience was being served by two elderly ladies who made the restaurant feel incredibly homey and authentic. The menu wasn’t large, but everything we ordered was delicious. We had the unagi rice bowl and the salmon roe rice bowl, and both exceeded our expectations. The unagi was flavorful and perfectly paired with the rice, while the salmon roe was fresh, generous, and packed with flavor. What impressed me most was the value. The quality of the food was excellent, yet the prices were very reasonable. Sometimes the best travel memories come from small local restaurants that you discover by chance, and this was definitely one of those places.
View on GoogleVery reasonble prices for good portion sizes and it tastes good too. Our table of 4 had the tempura prawn upon, beef curry rice, fried chicken with rice, and soba with tempura vegetables.
View on GoogleOne of the gems in Toyakoonsen, located quite centrally, which you couldn’t miss because of the delicious smell coming out of their kitchen. It’s a no frills restaurant, minimal sitting, cash only, eat and leave. But the food was honestly among the best I had in my entire Hokkaido trip in terms of taste and price. The soba, prawn tempura and fried oysters were so tasty, and it was one of my regrets that I didn’t return
View on GoogleThey have amazing fried pork chop. The pork is much thicker than most restaurants. The meat consisted of a right amount of fat so it is juicy when you bit. Strongly recommend you should try if you like fried pork chop. 👍👍👍👍👍
View on GoogleThoroughly enjoyed the chicken soba. Best thing I had all day & the aircon is not bad. It hit the spot in an area with little options. Note that it's cash only. My friend's fried chicken was also crunchy and soft with a big portion
