I will write a more detailed review after I visit more of the yatai. However, my experience so far at the Nishikimachi yokochou has been amazing! This is a passage between the two main restaurant/bar streets, filled with small booths (the ones I've visited don't seat more than six or seven.) There is also an area for outdoor dining. Do make sure to visit Fukuchan for fresh seafood, sake, and a refreshing lemon sour. There is also a Mexican-Japanese fusion booth which is a must try! (Especially if you want tequila shots ;))

The owner's dedication really matched the flavors, and I got to enjoy some fantastic sushi😆 The oysters and カレイ松川 were delicious enough to make me groan with appreciation. I'm so glad I happened to find a place like this✨ A place I definitely want to visit again.

It was in a corner of 苫小牧's nightlife district. A collection of little shops, rather like 屋台横丁 in 帯広 or 北見じまん村. The shops are small, so they can easily get crowded, which might make things difficult at the moment. My local friend said they don't go there, but with Chinese food, cafés, and so on, it seemed like somewhere you could drop into casually. I also passed by at night, and there were quite a few people and it was busy. Information about the shops, such as menus and prices, is hard to figure out, so I wished it were clearer.

I enjoyed bar-hopping.

A yatai alley in 錦町, the entertainment district of 苫小牧市. I didn't know 苫小牧 had a yatai street. There are １３ yatai eateries, and the atmosphere is very nice. Having a little drink and then hopping to another place might be fun.
