The Lake Mashu First Observation Deck is the place with the best view for seeing Lake Mashu. We were very lucky to come here with no fog covering it. The deep, mesmerizing blue of Lake Mashu was right before our eyes. Mashu Blue is so beautiful it leaves you speechless. Such a beautiful blue～ If you come to Lake Mashu, you must have the Mashu Blue ice cream! Great for photos, and tasty too～

The first parking lot is 500 yen for a regular car (including Mt. Iozan), but the rest house is clean, so it's reasonably acceptable. The Lake Mashu soft serve is... average. Give it a try as a souvenir.

This is the Lake Mashu First Observation Deck bus stop, the terminus of the route bus from Mashu Station to Lake Mashu. Outside the summer season, it may be best to check the bus schedule by phone with Akan Bus. It connects with JR trains with plenty of time to spare. Transit IC cards are not supported, so the fare must be paid in cash. Be careful, because if you don't take the bus on its return trip, you won't be able to get back.

The weather was great, and the lake surface was like a mirror, beautiful together with the background. The active volcano in the background was also impressive.

Foggy Lake Mashu. There's a song about it, right 😅 When I came on a school trip, it was completely foggy and I couldn't see it, but decades later I came with my husband 🎵 It was clear and sunny and the air was clear, it was the best 😃⤴️⤴️ ☺️ The people at the shop at the observation deck were kind too ☺️ Look at the beautiful Lake Mashu while eating the rich ice cream 👍️
