We took the Winter Kushiro River Canoe Tour on Jan 3rd, 2025, and had a great surprise: two cute dogs, Aki-chan and Yuki-chan, came along with us! Our guide, Yoshida-san, his wife, and Koh-san were very welcoming, and the commentary on the local scenery was insightful. The river was beautiful in the winter. We highly recommend this "Winter Kushiro River Canoe Tour" experience from Kussharo Eco Tour and look forward to returning for a tour in another season! It was fun! We had a wonderful time with Yoshida-san! In addition to the knowledge he shared about the lake and river environment, his group took very good care of setting up our equipment, clothing, and safety. This is a great family-friendly experience, especially for first-timers.

We went fishing and canoeing with Yoshida-san and had a fantastic time! He showed us with great enthusiasm the endemic Hokkaido fish species, crayfish and shrimp in the river/lake Kussharo. Can recommend in summer (winter is supposedly even more magical)! Bonus: two canine companions accompanied us on the trip :)

It was definitely the most memorable highlight during our last visit to Hokkaido. Yoshida san is very knowledgeable about the local environment. Not only we had a fabulous kayak tour, Yoshida san also took us to Kotan Hot Spring on the way back to our hotel, which we had a great opportunity to see swans, fox, etc. Thank you very much Yoshida and Fumi san for everything.
