It was an observation deck with a full view of Asahikawa city and the Tokachi mountain range in the distance. The road to get there is a gravel road, so the car got quite dirty from the dust, and there are big stones on the road, so I worried about the tires getting damaged. The road is also narrow, so unless you have a kei car, if you meet an oncoming car, one of you will probably have to back up to give way.

My first time here. They say if you walk from the Asahikawa city side, you reach the observation deck in about 30 minutes. I came by car from the back side all the way to the observation deck ❗️ From the observation deck you can walk to the other mountain. The distance is quite long, though ❗️ Both mountains are about 200m high, and apparently you can trek them casually.

Arashiyama Observation Deck parking lot ☆ This was my first time visiting this park too, and wow~ it's magnificent~♪ I was surprised at how well maintained it is Like Otokoyama Park, it has a wild plant garden, but the atmosphere is different, somehow more stylish, that's the feeling I got^^ Asahikawa seen from a high position is wonderful ☆ The countryside scenery seen from the parking lot ♪ (from the wooden stairs to the observation deck)

With the vegetation so thick you can feel the nature, but the view is so-so. Apparently brown bears appeared twice this year.

This is one of the places that even locals don't know much about. I highly recommend it if you want to see the night view of Asahikawa. There is about 15 minutes of off-road driving, and at the end of the off-road section there is a paved road of about 500m, so please drive carefully.
