I have visited Totsukawa Village, but I didn't know about Shintotsukawa. I didn't know Shintotsukawa Monogatari either, so I was curious and visited. After reading reviews, I became interested in the digest version and had them screen it, with their agreement that I might leave partway through. It was said to run for 40 minutes. Once I started watching, it was interesting and drew me in, but if you want to do other sightseeing too, it's a dilemma. When I looked it up after visiting, Shintotsukawa Monogatari was not available online, and perhaps now it can only be seen here. It was my first time seeing Saito Yuki when she was young, and I learned how beautiful and sexy she was. It's hard to picture land reclamation, so this museum made me really wish they would stream it online. Also, I was staying nearby, and as a tourist I'd appreciate an earlier opening time.
View on GoogleI'd wanted to visit this place for ages. The photos from filming back then were good too, but above all, being able to watch the digest version was fantastic! NHK, please release it on DVD! I'll buy it even if it's expensive!
View on GoogleA memorial museum collecting materials related to Shintotsukawa Monogatari, with exhibits about the NHK drama and the author. The filming photos are quite worth seeing. It is a little way from the town center.
View on GoogleThe exhibits and overall scale are not very large. 30 minutes~1 hour is enough. The museum attendant was very kind and answered various questions.
