Beautiful and peaceful place in the remote forest leading to Mount Tomuraushi. Great food (venison and bbq were the highlights!). We would love to come back! :)

July 2026 I had lunch here when visiting トムラウシ温泉. There are few places to eat around here, so this place is very welcome. This time I had the curry, which had an authentic flavor that showed care in the choice of spices and ingredients, and it was very delicious. The cheesecake and coffee also tasted carefully prepared. The interior has a relaxed atmosphere, making it a place to take a breather between hot springs and sightseeing. If you are heading toward トムラウシ and are unsure where to have lunch, I recommend this place.

About 40km north of central 新得町, with a single direct road from 屈足. There is a post office, a cafe, and cottages. It is family-run, so they are very kind and it is a lovely place. The cafe's food and coffee are delicious too～ They also have original T-shirts and other items. I would really like people on touring trips to stop by.

I stopped for a meal on the way to トムラウシ温泉. It was lunchtime, but since it was a weekday there were no other customers, so I could enjoy a relaxed meal. 鹿肉サンド and 鹿肉まん might also be good for takeaway. There are no other places to eat between central 屈足 and トムラウシ温泉, so it is best to check ahead if you plan to stop for a meal.

After driving along mountain roads for a long time, I felt relieved at the sudden appearance of human activity, and the coffee and soft-serve flags drew me in for a break. First I said hello and used the restroom… it was very clean, and what impressed me was the cloth towels. I think it is a wonderfully ecological initiative. Immediately to the right as you enter is a counter that also serves as a postal agency. It might be nice to buy a postcard in the shop area in front of it and write a letter to yourself. There are also cute 新得焼 pottery pieces, original goods, and food. Having a light meal farther inside while watching the stove's flames is lovely too. While chatting with the staff, I happened to mention that my stomach had been feeling unwell since yesterday, and the postmaster came out from the back and let me taste a spoonful of ume pulp extract 😭 I continued farther on while munching on 鹿肉サンド, which they recommended as good for times like that. It was such a warm place that I could really understand how people from all over the country feel about returning here. If I have the chance, I would like to come and stay overnight. It was only a short visit, but it truly warmed my heart 😊
