You're young, but you like pickles?” I get told that wherever I go! If you visit Shintoku, definitely get some pickles here! Of course there's a tasting area, and complimentary tea too! They also have pickles you don't often see in Honshu, and among them, the pickled gobo was superb 🌟 Every once in a loooong while, they have clearance-type items, and you can buy them for around 100 yen! Haha. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the taste or quality!! I always find myself suddenly craving their pickles. Also, their apple butter is apparently famous, and supposedly Matsuko ◯X raved about it.... I tried it on crusty bread, ahh, this is good 😋 Give the butter from this pickle shop a try too!!! I think they also served lunch during the day!!!
View on GoogleBefore COVID, you could choose products while tasting them, but that seems to have been discontinued. Still, you can buy various pickles in small portions, so why not stop by? I recommend combining your visit with the soba restaurant “十箱” right next door.
View on GoogleI don't eat pickles very often, but whenever I come here I end up buying some. Neither the shop nor the parking lot is spacious, but there's a reasonably wide variety of pickles. Unfortunately, both tastings and complimentary tea are currently suspended because of COVID. Payment seemed to be cash only.
View on GoogleA pickle specialty shop along National Route 38. The parking lot feels small, with room for only about 4 regular cars, but few people stay long, so waiting doesn't seem to be a problem. At this time, pickle tastings were not available because of COVID.
View on GoogleThey sell various kinds of pickles. I like the gobo flavor 😋 Whenever I pass through Shintoku, I always buy some to take home 🚗
