Fresh and delicious.

For dinner on the first day of our trip, we went to “美味の館 天政” in Shizunai. Since we weren’t very hungry, the two of us ordered one serving of top-grade sushi, 4 pieces of shishamo sushi, 3 individually selected pieces, a salad, and grilled fish belly. Every topping was fresh and delicious, and the shishamo sushi was particularly memorable. Since it’s something we rarely get to eat, it really felt like a dish unique to Hokkaido. The restaurant offers individual dishes as well as sushi, and I can recommend it for dinner in Shizunai. We got to enjoy distinctly Hokkaido flavors from the very first day of our trip, making for a satisfying evening.

The best I’ve ever had What makes this place distinctive is that there are no individual sushi orders; instead, there are several grades of sets at set prices Apparently the toppings vary by season, so I think it’s worth asking (the photo shows 松, chawanmushi, and tekkamaki) Some of the rolls seemed a little expensive, but the tekkamaki was generously portioned and satisfying Since I went for dinner, I managed 2 plates, but even 1 plate is satisfying enough to leave you nearly 80% full, so I don’t think it needs to cost that much. Apparently takeaway is also available for an extra charge, so I recommend it when you want a little luxury while traveling or celebrating Electronic money〇, credit cards〇.

I had 日高のうまいもの丼 (1800円). The hokki clam was soooo delicious🤤 But the portion was just right after I asked for less rice, so with a regular serving of rice, there might have been slightly too few toppings. Considering the price, I would have been happy with another 1-2 kinds of toppings😌 There’s a raised floor seating area, so I could relax and take my time✨

A local eatery. I stopped for lunch during a drive. I had kaisen bara chirashi. The fresh sashimi and sushi rice with its sharp vinegar flavor were delicious. The serving robot looked out of place in the old-fashioned interior, which actually made it funny lol. I’d like to visit again when I’m in Shizunai.
